The day started well for the ‘Bomb’ posting the fastest lap in his qualifying group, just ahead of KTM’s Max Nagl.
In the opening moto it was Nagl who grabbed the hole-shot with Steve in second and Desalle in 3rd and chasing. On lap two Desalle managed to get past Steve , but as the riders settled into their rhythm Steve had the upper hand, eventually working his way past Desalle and then also past Nagl to get out into the lead. Steve was looking superb and started to put a gap on the field, but then in the closing stages was hindered by lapped riders allowing Desalle to slip back past. Steve and Desalle raced the last lap wheel to wheel, but in the end it was Desalle that took the win by half a second over Steve.
In moto 2 it was another hole-shot for Nagl with Desalle and Steve chasing. At roughly the mid way point a mistake by Desalle allowed Steve up into second place who was then able to chase down Nagl and get out into the lead. Moments later Roczen got past Nagl too, leaving Steve and Roczen leading the pack, with Steve ultimately taking the moto win and the overall honours for the day.
Steve : Everything went OK and my riding was good . The sand was heavy so it was hard work out there. I had two good starts and led the first moto but got into trouble near the end with the lapped riders and Clement was able to find a way through. The second race was similar but after Clement had crashed I had to deal with Nagl and then Ken Roczen was running a very good pace so I couldn't slow down. All in all it was a good days racing and good to do a race like this before Lommel.

Steve contested the penultimate round of the Belgian Motocross Championship yesterday, held on the natural terrain of Orp-Le-Grand, and now sits 31 points clear of 2nd place with one round remaining. Ramon has already accumulated 6 Belgian Motocross Titles in his successful career, and is certainly on track to make it 7 this season. Having injured his groin last week in the Brazilian GP, Steve’s primary aim was to have a smooth day of racing and hold a strong p
Despite over-stretching his groin muscle in Sunday morning warm-up, and needing to race in a lot of pain, Steve rode two solid motos in front of 21 500 fans to take a well deserved 4th overall in Campo Grande, Brazil, yesterday. In the opening moto Steve had to fight through the pack, as he rounded out the first lap in 11th position, whilst the leaders started to get an early gap on the field. Riding very cautiously, and in a lot of pain, Steve gradually pi
